About the Event

On the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Detroit Stars in 1919, the Friends of Historic Hamtramck Stadium and our partners are convening a conference covering the history of Black Baseball and the Negro Leagues in Michigan.

Primary topics include the NNL1 Detroit Stars, 1919-1931; the NEWL Detroit Wolves, 1932; the NNL2 Detroit Stars, 1933; the NAL Detroit Stars, 1937. Also covering the 1895-1898 Page Fence Giants and the 1954-1961 NAL Detroit/New Orleans Stars/Clowns.

Also other topics relating to the Negro Leagues and Black Baseball in general.
